About Himenuma Pond
A pond about 800 m around at 130 m above sea level, at the northern foot of Mt. Rishiri. Spring water from Mt. Rishiri was dammed to promote fishing, joining three small ponds into one, and it was named Himenuma after the kokanee (himemasu) released into it. The 1991 survey recorded crucian carp, kokanee and shrimp.
