About Moerenuma Pond

A pond in Higashi Ward, Sapporo, that curves almost into a full circle. In the 1991 survey it was eutrophic, with reeds, cattails and bulrushes on the shore and water chestnut and pond lilies on the surface. In the 1976 aerial photo the land inside the loop was fields and cleared ground; recent photos show that whole area turned into a park with hills and open lawns (Moerenuma Park).
