Keikyu EX Hotel Sapporo is a lodging-focused urban hotel located in Kita 6-jo Nishi 4-chome, just about a 1-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station’s North Exit (West Gate). As soon as you come up to street level from the ticket gates the hotel is already in view, making it easy to drop off your luggage right after arrival or head straight to your train or the airport after check-out. From New Chitose Airport, it takes around 40 minutes on the JR Rapid Airport train to Sapporo Station, followed by a short walk, so the property works well as a base for travel both within Hokkaido and from outside the region.

The front desk is located on the second floor, accessed by elevator from the ground-floor entrance. The lobby is a bright, open space with large windows and is loosely zoned into a lounge area, workspaces, and gallery-style display zones. Self check-in kiosks are installed in the lobby, allowing most procedures to be completed via touch screen. They also support check-out, which helps avoid congestion at the front desk during busy departure times.

The lobby also features a welcome coffee station and an amenity corner. Guests can enjoy complimentary coffee from the machine, and pick up items such as cotton swabs, cotton pads, hairbrushes, razors, cleansing products, lotion and emulsion, as well as tea and coffee bags in the quantity they need. Basic amenities are provided in the guest rooms, while smaller items are available in the lobby, reducing waste and allowing guests to tailor what they use to their own preferences.

The hotel offers 150 guest rooms, mainly Double and Twin types, along with connecting rooms, four-bed rooms, and a universal room. Standard Double rooms range from about 15 to 18 m² and come with a 160 cm-wide bed, in categories such as “Moderate Double” and “Superior Double,” which differ in size and whether a sofa and table are provided. Twin rooms are around 19–21 m², with two 110 cm-wide beds and a layout designed to provide enough space for two guests, including a sofa and desk.

One of the hotel’s signature room types is the “Flex Style,” designed with remote work in mind. These 16.9 m² rooms feature a 160 cm-wide bed, a single sofa, a work desk, and a wall-mounted TV, and are promoted as the most suitable option for work-centric stays. The connecting rooms link two 21.3 m² Twin rooms via an internal door, allowing up to four guests to move easily between the two spaces—ideal for families, small groups, or workations. The 44.1 m² four-bed room includes four beds, as well as an in-room washer-dryer and sink, making it particularly convenient for longer stays or trips with bulky luggage.

The universal room is approximately 29.7 m² and is a barrier-free room with two 110 cm-wide beds. The layout offers wide passageways to accommodate wheelchair use and ease of movement. This room type is available by phone reservation only, allowing staff to confirm needs and arrangements in advance. All guest rooms are non-smoking, with smoking limited to designated areas in the common spaces.

In-room amenities include a humidifying air purifier, LCD TV (43 or 49 inches), refrigerator, electric kettle, mugs and glasses, fabric deodorizing spray, washlet toilet, thermostatic shower, and in-room safe. Standard bathroom amenities consist of shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, toothbrush, face and bath towels, waffle-knit pajamas, and slippers. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, allowing for online meetings, trip planning, and streaming without difficulty for typical users.

Breakfast is served at the partner restaurant “eight Ricefield cafe Sapporo Ekikita” on the basement floor. The buffet-style menu makes generous use of Hokkaido ingredients, offering dishes featuring local seafood and seasonal vegetables, freshly baked bread served with Hokkaido butter, Japanese-style side dishes, desserts, and a selection of drinks. Breakfast is available from 6:30 to 10:00 (last entry at 9:30), making it convenient even for guests with early departures. Service is dine-in only, with no standard take-out option.

On-site services include coin-operated laundry facilities, vending machines, an ice machine, microwave, smoking area, parcel delivery handling, copying and fax services, dry cleaning reception, complimentary newspapers (Yomiuri Shimbun), rental laptops, and wheelchair rental. The entrance is secured with controlled access, reflecting the hotel’s focus on safety. The lounge space is designed to be comfortable for light PC work, informal meetings, or simply taking a break—offering a place to sit and relax despite the hotel’s proximity to the busy station area.

The hotel does not have its own parking, as clearly indicated in its information. Guests arriving by car are asked to use nearby coin-operated or partner car parks, checking each facility’s conditions for vehicle size, hours, and pricing at the time of use. As the official website and booking sites list “no parking” for the property, it is advisable to research nearby parking options in advance, especially during busy travel periods.

Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out is at 11:00. Luggage can be stored at the front desk on the day of arrival before check-in and on the day of departure after check-out, allowing guests to explore the city hands-free. With its excellent location just steps from Sapporo Station’s North Exit, simple and functional guest rooms, well-stocked amenity corner and lobby, and breakfast highlighting Hokkaido ingredients, Keikyu EX Hotel Sapporo serves as a convenient base for both business and leisure stays.
