About Mount Yubari

Mount Yubari is a 1,668 m mountain near the boundary of Minamifurano Town and Yubari City, Hokkaido. Near the south end of the Yubari mountains, it hosts rare plants adapted to serpentine rock and species found only here, such as Primula yuparensis. Almost every alpine plant seen on Hokkaido mountains grows here, and the area is a Natural Monument as the alpine plant community and serpentinite melange belt of Mount Yubari.
