Lake Panketo

About Lake Panketo

A dammed lake northeast of Lake Akan in Kushiro City. Its transparency of 14.0 m in the 1991 survey placed it among the clearest lakes in Japan. Its shore is entirely natural, and it ranked 4th in Japan among unmodified lakes with a shoreline of 5 km or more (12.4 km). Recorded fish include kokanee, white-spotted char, Japanese dace and sculpin.
