The Gate Hotel Sapporo by HULIC is an urban hotel in Sapporo’s Station-front district, located at Kita 3-jo Nishi 3-chome in Chuo Ward. It opened on December 20, 2025, marking the first “The Gate Hotel” property in Hokkaido. The building rises 20 stories above ground with one basement level, and all 172 guestrooms are arranged on the upper floors from the 11th to the 20th.

The hotel is exceptionally convenient: about a 1-minute walk from Sapporo Station on the Subway Namboku Line and roughly 4 minutes on foot from JR Sapporo Station. Guests can also use the Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walkway (Chi-Ka-Ho), making it easy to get around even during snowy seasons or bad weather. Odori Station is within walking distance as well, so the location works equally well for business and sightseeing.

Guestrooms come in several categories, including THE GATE (Suite), Luxe, Classy, Business Luxe, and Business Classy. Interiors are designed in calm, understated tones inspired by Hokkaido’s landscape and nature, with minimal ornamentation. Because the rooms are concentrated on higher floors, the hotel tends to feel quieter than you might expect for a station-area address.

Select rooms feature work-friendly layouts with a height-adjustable desk and an ergonomic chair, making it easy to separate “work mode” from downtime—ideal for short business trips or workations. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and power outlets are conveniently placed near the bed.

On the 11th floor, the hotel offers a guest-only public bath (“Public Bath”). It’s open 14:00–25:30 and 6:00–10:00, a schedule that fits well before and after work or exploring the city. There is no sauna, but the bath provides a relaxing alternative to the in-room bathroom.

The 11th floor also has a guest-only fitness room equipped with cardio machines such as treadmills, bikes, and cross-trainers. Hours are 6:00–23:00, making it easy to fit in a light workout or refresh during your stay.

On the 20th floor, eligible room guests can access the Premium Lounge. It operates 14:00–23:00 (last order 22:30), with entry available from 6:30 in the morning. Drinks and sweets are served, and premium offerings are available after 18:00. The lounge is designed as a comfortable retreat with elevated views over the city.

The on-site restaurant is Anchor Grill Sapporo on the 10th floor. Breakfast is served in the restaurant with a choose-your-main style, and the layout makes it easy to keep dining within the hotel if you prefer a seamless, all-in-one stay.

Please note that the hotel does not have a dedicated on-site parking facility; guests arriving by car will need to use nearby public parking. For families, there is a nursing room on the 10th floor with a diaper-changing station, adding a thoughtful layer of convenience.
