About Asahinuma Pond
A small lagoon-origin pond on the Yufutsu Plain in Tomakomai City. In the 1991 survey it was an unmodified lake with pondweed, water chestnut, water shield and pygmy water lilies, and fish such as crucian carp, dace and loach. Recent aerial photos show farmland reaching close to the pond.
