About This Site
On January 25, 2026, a record-breaking snowstorm struck the Sapporo and New Chitose area. The JR Airport Express — the rapid train connecting New Chitose Airport and Sapporo Station — came to a complete halt with no clear timeline for resumption. Yet flights from across Japan kept landing at New Chitose Airport one after another. The result was widespread chaos, with large numbers of passengers stranded inside the terminal.
This site is nothing but a link collection. Just a table. But we packed it with as much of the information that stranded travelers need as we possibly could.
You step off the plane at New Chitose Airport and find yourself surrounded by crowds in total disarray. The only thing you know for certain is that transportation has ground to a halt. It feels like being dropped into a jungle with no sense of direction — on your left you can hear the groans of JR Hokkaido, on your right the groans of the airport bus services.
What's actually running? What's going on? Please — just let me climb that hill over there. Let me see the whole picture. Yes, transportation is paralyzed by the snow — that much is beyond anyone's control. But just let me get up on that hill. Let me see everything!
This table is like a signboard on a hilltop, planted in the middle of the chaos that is New Chitose Airport. If you think there are links that should be added, please reach out via the contact form or on X — we'd be glad to hear from you.
